Abstract

A computer system and computer-implemented method for estimating lateral slip losses in a vehicle performing a manoeuvre are provided. The computer system comprises processing circuitry configured to acquire a lateral slip resistance coefficient for the vehicle, acquire parameters of the manoeuvre to be performed by the vehicle, including a vehicle speed, a vertical force on one or more axles of the vehicle, and a turning radius, and estimate lateral slip losses for the vehicle based on the acquired lateral slip resistance coefficient and the acquired parameters of the manoeuvre.
