Abstract

The invention has as its object a label-shaped device that can be applied to an object to monitor the temperature trend of the object over time. The device comprises:a support substrate;a layer of active material applied to the support, said active material being suitable to provide an optically stimulated response in luminescence (OSL) linked to the temperature/time condition to which the object has been subjected in a given period of time, starting from a dose of electromagnetic radiation initially absorbed having an energy greater than a minimum dependent on the difference between energy levels of the molecular structure of said material active;a layer of semiconductor material coupled to the layer of active material in such a way as to form a heterostructure with the layer of active material so that the luminescence response of the layer of active material is such as to induce a transfer of charges towards the semiconductor material and, therefore, a corresponding modification of the conductivity of the layer of semiconductor material.
