Abstract
A utility meter is provided. The utility meter comprises a metrology processor and an application processor. The metrology processor is configured to receive input current and voltage measurements from one or more sensors. The application processor is configured to receive the energy consumption data from the metrology processor and output the energy consumption data. Primary and secondary communication links are provided between the metrology processor and the application processor and configured to transmit the energy consumption data from the metrology processor to the application processor.
