Abstract

The invention refers to an implantable medical lead that may be cost-efficiently designed for different use cases and provides excellent mechanical properties. The implantable medical lead comprises an electrically insulating tubular lead body having an internal lumen accommodating at least two conductors, wherein each conductor is configured to electrically connect one electrode located at the distal end of the lead and an electrical connector assembly at the proximal end of the lead, wherein each conductor comprises an electrically conductive core and an electrically insulating sleeve, wherein a cross section of the electrically insulating sleeve of at least one conductor of the at least two conductors forms an inner circumference and an outer circumference, wherein the inner circumference and the outer circumference have a substantially elliptical shape exhibiting an eccentricity ε in the range 0,4 ≤ ε1 ≤ 0,85.
