Abstract
It is described a method of recycling a component (4, 7, 8) involved in producing a wind turbine blade or a component thereof by vacuum infusion molding, wherein the component (4, 7, 8) has been contaminated with an epoxy resin during the vacuum infusion molding. The method comprises a recycling stage with steps of separating the component (4, 7, 8) from a plurality of components involved in the manufacture of a blade of a wind turbine, wherein the separated component (4, 7, 8) is or comprises a recyclable thermoplastic or recyclable thermoset, shredding the separated contaminated component (4, 7, 8), contacting the shredded contaminated component (4, 7, 8) with a heated, acidic aqueous liquid for a predetermined period of time, so that the epoxy resin is at least partly dissolved and precipitated from a remainder of the shredded component (4, 7, 8), and using the remainder of the component (4, 7, 8) as a recycled material.
