Abstract

Provided are an injection blow molding apparatus (1) and an injection blow molding method capable of setting the temperature of a preform (610) to a temperature at which the preform (610) can be released and the preform (610) is expanded by blowing air. An injection blow molding apparatus (1) includes a male mold portion (51b); a female mold portion (12); a gripping mold portion (42); an injection unit that injects a resin for molding a preform (610) into inner surfaces of the female mold portion (12), the male mold portion (51b), and the gripping mold portion (42); a blow unit that is released from the female mold portion (12) and the male mold portion (51b) and blows air into the preform (610) in a state in which the gripping mold portion (42) has gripped the preform (610); and a control unit (70) that releases the preform (610) from the male mold portion (51b) before the preform (610) is released from the female mold portion (12) in a mold release process of releasing the preform (610) from the female mold portion (12) and the male mold portion (51b).
