Abstract
An article storage system 100 includes an article storage device 1 and a central controller 110 for controlling the operation of the article storage device 1. The plurality of article storage devices 1 are arranged side by side such that boxes B can be transferred between adjacent article storage devices 1 via the box transport unit 40. A single box B is sequentially transported from one article storage device 1 to another. The central controller 110 acquires the status of the article storage devices 1 and, when an abnormality occurs in any article storage device 1, continues the operation of article storage devices 1 located upstream and/or downstream of the article storage device 1 where the abnormality has occurred in the transport direction of the box B.
