Abstract
A sheet transport device (14) includes a sheet placing unit (28) on which a sheet (12) to be transported is placed, plural first detection units (100, 101, 102, 103) that detect the sheet placed on the sheet placing unit, a second detection unit (104, 105, 106, 107) that detects the sheet placed on the sheet placing unit via a detection method different from a detection method of the first detection unit, and a plurality of support units (81, 82, 83) to which the first and second detection units are attached, in which the plurality of first detection units are attached to the same support unit that is attachable to and detachable from the sheet placing unit.
