Abstract

A sheet storage device (50) includes: a sheet storage body (51) that stores sheets (1) and that is capable of being pulled out of and pushed into an apparatus body (1a); a transport roller pair (53a, 53b) provided in the apparatus body to separate and transport the sheets stored in the sheet storage body, one sheet at a time; and a press-contact unit (80) that abuts against the sheet storage body mounted to the apparatus body to move one of transport rollers of the transport roller pair from a press-contact cancellation position to a press-contact position, in which the press-contact unit abuts against the sheet storage body earlier than a different abutment unit (520a, 520b) that abuts against the sheet storage body when mounting the sheet storage body to the apparatus body.
