Abstract
A production method for cyclopentanone including: a rearrangement hydrogenation step of passing a first fluid containing furfuryl alcohol, water, and hydrogen through a fixed-bed flow reactor packed with a hydrogenation catalyst to obtain a reaction product containing cyclopentanone and water; an extraction step of extracting cyclopentanone from the reaction product with an extraction solvent to obtain an oil phase containing cyclopentanone; and a recovery step of recovering cyclopentanone from the oil phase.
