Abstract

The invention relates to a method for making a polymerizable composition to produce an anti-abrasion hard coat which does not comprise adding organic solvent, the method consisting of (a) Stoichiometrically hydrolysing a tetraalkoxysilane compound bearing hydrolysable groups with HCl solution having a concentration between 0.025 to 0.05N to obtain a first composition; (b)Adding an epoxysilane monomer to the first composition; (c)Stirring the composition resulting from step (b); (d)Adding an excess amount of DI water for hydrolysing said epoxysilane, and lowering the HCl concentration under 0.025 mol.L^-1; (e)Adding a polymer catalyst under stirring.
