Abstract

Embodiments of this application provide a picture generation apparatus, a display device, and a transportation means, and relate to the field of projection device technologies, to resolve a problem that display quality is greatly affected by a temperature change. The picture generation apparatus includes a light source module, a light modulator, a projection module, and a phase compensation apparatus. The light source module is configured to generate first polarized light projected to the light modulator. The light modulator includes a liquid crystal layer, and the liquid crystal layer is used to modulate a polarization state of the first polarized light to form a modulated beam. The projection module is configured to project second polarized light in the modulated beam. Polarization directions of the first polarized light and the second polarized light are perpendicular to each other. The phase compensation apparatus is disposed between the light source module and the projection module, and includes a phase compensation plate and a drive apparatus. The drive apparatus is configured to drive the phase compensation plate to move. In a moving process, a phase delay amount of the phase compensation plate in an optical path between the light source module and the projection module is changed. The picture generation apparatus may be used in a display device and a transportation means.
