Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method of operating a system (10), the system (10) including a first device (12) and a second device (14), the second device (14) being configured to act as a backup device to the first device (12), the first device (12) and the second device (14) each having a service-oriented architecture, SOA. The method includes evaluating, by the system (10), a readiness of the second device (14) to take over operation from the first device (12) based on data which is gathered and/or calculated, while the system (10) is in operation; generating, by the system (10), a readiness signal based on evaluating the readiness of the second device (14) to take over operation from the first device (12); determining, by the system (10), whether to cause and/or allow the second device (14) to take over operation from the first device (12) based on the readiness signal. The present disclosure also relates to an apparatus and a system (10).
