Abstract
Provided are a fall detection system, a fall detection method, and a fall detection program that can maintain accuracy in detection of fall or tumble of a monitoring target person, regardless of a place where monitoring is performed and a size of a region to be monitored. The fall detection system includes a video acquirer 310, a skeleton detector 320, a skeleton angle calculator 330, a primary fall determiner 350, and a secondary fall determiner 360. The video acquirer 310 acquires a video obtained by capturing an image of an object. The skeleton detector 320 detects skeleton information of the object shown in the video. The skeleton angle calculator 330 calculates an angle formed by a skeleton of the object with respect to a reference direction, based on the skeleton information of the object. The primary fall determiner 350 determines that the object is in a "temporary" fall state when the angle is within a range defined in advance for each skeleton. The secondary fall determiner 360 determines that the object is in a fall state when the determination that the object is in the "temporary" fall state continues for a predetermined first period of time.
