Abstract

An integrated isotope battery comprising at least one unit battery layer is disclosed. The unit battery layer includes: a substrate having a first major surface, an opposite second major surface, and a plurality of recesses formed in the first major surface; a pattern disposed in the plurality of recesses, wherein the pattern has a conductive type opposite to a conductive type of the substrate, a p-n junction being formed between the substrate and the pattern; and a radioactive radiation source pattern disposed in the plurality of recesses, on the pattern, wherein the radioactive radiation source pattern is configured to emit radioactive radiation to an interface between the substrate and the pattern. The radioactive radiation source pattern has at least a portion with a tapered shape, gradually becoming thinner towards the second major surface.
