Abstract

Some embodiments in the present disclosure relate to adaptive power boosting in wireless communication networks. In particular, an access point and a wireless communication entity is provided. The access point comprises a transceiver configured to transmit a trigger frame including scheduling information to a wireless communication entity and to receive a message from the wireless communication entity, for determining a range from the wireless communication entity to the access point, entity characteristics, and/or Quality of Service, QoS, requirements. The access point further comprises processing circuitry configured to determine the range, the entity characteristics, and/or the QoS requirements using the message received from the wireless communication entity and to determine a distributed-tone resource unit, dRU, including a plurality of sub-carriers distributed over a bandwidth, according to the determined range, entity characteristics, and/or QoS requirements. The transceiver is further configured to transmit a dRU indication indicating the dRU to the wireless communication entity.
