Abstract

A light emitting device (1, 1A-1D, 2, 2A) includes a base member (10) formed of a ceramic material and having a through hole (10x), a first interconnect (11) disposed on an upper surface of the base member (10), a second interconnect (12) disposed on a lower surface of the base member (10), a conductive member (13) disposed inside the through hole (10x) and electrically connecting the first interconnect (11) and the second interconnect (12), a light emitting element (21, 21a-21d, 41a, 41b) disposed on the first interconnect (11) and electrically connected to the first interconnect (11), and an integrated circuit (501) disposed on the first interconnect (11) and electrically connected to the first interconnect (11).
