Abstract

An adhesive patch (100) for providing optical coupling between body tissue (110) and a photoplethysmography device (120), is provided. The adhesive patch includes: a first surface (130) for coupling to the body tissue (110), the first surface comprising an adhesive material for providing temporary coupling to the body tissue (110). The adhesive patch also includes a second surface (140) for coupling to the photoplethysmography device (120), the second surface being arranged opposite the first surface. The adhesive patch also includes a transparent region (150). The transparent region (150) extends between the first surface (130) and the second surface (140) for providing the optical coupling between the body tissue (110) and the photoplethysmography device (120) when the first surface is coupled to the body tissue and the second surface is coupled to the photoplethysmography device.
