Abstract
Provided are a blood collection device and a blood collection method enabling blood collection from any subject in the necessary amount for a test. The blood collection device is provided with a compression mechanism that independently compresses the base section and/or the middle section and the distal section of a finger, and collects blood from a puncture mark on the fingertip by repeatedly compressing the finger in the order of the base section and/or the middle section and the distal section. This blood collection device is characterized in that a period of time for compressing the distal section is longer than a period of time for compressing the middle section and/or a period of time for compressing the base section.
