Abstract

System and related method for tomographic imaging. The system may comprise an input interface for receiving a scan request for a region of interest in a surrounding object. Control logic is operable to cause a tomographic imaging apparatus in an imaging session to acquire, along an acquisition axis (Z), multiple projection frames λ(z) of the surrounding object optionally with application of an image quality, IQ, booster operation, for ranges along the acquisition axis of the imaging apparatus. Whilst the imaging session is ongoing, based on a quality assessment in relation to the acquired projection frames, the control logic is to cause revisit one or more times, an earlier range and re-acquire there fresh projection fames λ'(z), with application of the image quality, IQ, booster operation, until the quality assessment is indicative of the quality being on target, or until a stopping condition is met.
