Abstract
A pneumatic tire includes a tread (2). The pneumatic tire further includes a carcass and a belt. The tread (2) includes a pair of shoulder main grooves (12, 13) and shoulder ribs (50, 60) disposed further outward in the tire axial direction relative to the shoulder main grooves (12, 13), respectively. Each of the shoulder ribs (50, 60) includes a slit (51, 61) that extends in a direction intersecting the shoulder main grooves (12, 13) and terminates within the shoulder rib (50, 60). The slit (51, 61) has an inward end in the tire axial direction, and the inward end is disposed further inward in the tire axial direction relative to a contact end (E1, E2) of the tread (2). A ratio (D/W) of a length D [mm] of the belt in a tire axial direction with respect to a contact width W[mm] of the tread is less than 1.1.
