Abstract

Provided is an aqueous ink composition for a writing implement that is easily wetted on a non-absorbing surface, enables stable writing without repelling of a drawn line, prevents blurring of the drawn line even when a cap is removed, is excellent in non-drying property, has no difference in vertical density of a coloring material in a pen core, and is excellent in drawn line drying property, and a writing implement using the same favorable as a marking pen or a marker pen. The aqueous ink composition for a writing implement according to the present disclosure includes at least a coloring material, 0.01 to 10 mass% of a neutralized product of an isobutylene-maleic anhydride copolymer, 0.001 to 5 mass% of one or more surfactants selected from an anionic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant, and water.
