Abstract

An apparatus (50) for stabilizing a fan assembly of a gas turbine engine during transport includes a ring (52) configured to engage a nose cone (54) of the fan assembly; an outer bracket (56) connected to the ring (52) and configured to mount to a fan casing of the fan assembly; and a tensioning assembly between the ring (52) and the outer bracket (56) to move the ring (52) along an axis of a shaft of the fan assembly. An assembly with the gas turbine engine and a method are also disclosed.
