Abstract

The present invention provides a method for analyzing hemoglobin in a blood-derived sample and a system for implementing said method, said method comprising: (1) a step for identifying, from a chromatogram that is obtained by subjecting a blood-derived sample to cation exchange liquid chromatography and that represents the elution of a plurality of hemoglobin fractions which include at least HbAlc and HbA0, a first peak for HbAlc and another peak (second peak) at which elution is faster than that at the first peak; (2) a step for calculating first peak information pertaining to the first peak and second peak information pertaining to the second peak; and (3) a step for deducing the presence of abnormal hemoglobin in the sample from a comparison between the ratio between the first peak information and the second peak information and a prescribed reference threshold value range.
