Abstract
This labeling substance comprises a metal-resin composite 100 that has a resin particle 10 and a plurality of metal particles 20 immobilized on the resin particle 10. When the CV value of the particle diameter D1 of the metal-resin composite 100 is 6% or less and the mode for the particle diameter of the metal-resin composite is α [nm], the abundance rate of particles having a particle diameter less than α×0.94 is 10% or less. In an immunoassay, the amount of analyte contained in a sample is quantified on the basis of the localized surface plasmon resonance of the metal-resin composite 100 in the labeling substance and/or a coloring intensity derived from light energy absorption caused by electron transitions.
