Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a method for determining a fault section in a series-compensated transmission line, the method comprising: obtaining impedance parameters of the transmission line; obtaining a first voltage and a first current at a first bus; obtaining a second voltage and a second current at a second bus; obtaining a current through an series compensator in a direction towards the first bus, wherein the series compensator is arranged between the first bus and the second bus; and determining a fault section based on: the impedance parameters, the first voltage and the first current, the second voltage and the second current, and the current through the series compensator.
