Abstract

An MQTT-based Modbus network system is disclosed. The network system includes: multiple master devices, multiple slave devices, a master connector connected with the multiple master devices through Modbus protocol, a slave connector connected with the multiple slave devices through Modbus protocol, and an MQTT broker connected with the master connector and the slave connector through MQTT protocol. The master connector publishes a requesting message to the MQTT broker based on a request from the master devices and manages a responding message aimed at the requesting message. The slave connector transmits sensing data of the slave devices or responds to one or more of the master devices, either based on an updating status of the sensing data of the slave devices or based on the requesting message published by the master connector.
