Abstract

A method, system, processing circuitry, and computer program product for determining whether at least one version of a video stream is permitted to be streamed to a device by comparing (a) a received set of device characteristics corresponding to the device and (b) a set of permitted device characteristics for the video stream to be streamed. The received set of device characteristics can be used to assign a device to one of plural device classes, and the at least one version of the video stream to be streamed may be determined based on the assigned device class.
