Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a user equipment comprising the following. Processing circuitry of the UE evaluates one or more trigger conditions for one or more mobility candidate cells or beams. In response to evaluating that a trigger condition for a mobility candidate cell or beam is fulfilled, the processing circuitry performs an early downlink synchronization with said mobility candidate cell or beam. The processing circuitry also determines whether to perform an early uplink synchronization or request an indication to perform an early uplink synchronization based on configuration information from a serving base station of the UE. In response to successfully completing the early downlink synchronization with said mobility candidate cells or beams and based on the determination, the processing circuitry performs the early uplink synchronization or requests the indication from the serving base station.
