Abstract

The disclosure relates to an ambient Internet of Things (A-IoT) device, a reader device, and respective methods for an A-IoT device and a reader device. More specifically, the A-IoT device comprises a memory, a transceiver and a circuitry. The memory is suitable for storing one or more transaction identifiers, IDs. The circuitry, in operation, after performing a successful access procedure, stores a first transaction ID in the memory, wherein the access procedure includes receiving a first paging message, and the first paging message includes the first transaction ID. The transceiver, in operation, receives a second paging message, the second paging message includes a second transaction ID. The circuitry, in operation, further determines whether to omit an access procedure in response to the second paging message, wherein the determining is based on the second transaction ID, the first transaction ID stored in the memory, and an indication for the first transaction ID.
