Abstract
The disclosure relates to an ambient Internet of Things (A-loT) device and a reader device, and respective methods for an A-loT device and a reader device. More specifically, an ambient Internet of Things, A-loT, device, comprises: a transceiver, which in operation: receives a paging message including a persistent identifier, ID, associated with the A-loT device; and circuitry, which in operation: determines, in response to receiving the paging message, whether a temporary ID assigned to the A-loT device by an access network is retained in the A-loT device; and controls, when the temporary ID is retained, the transceiver to transmit the temporary ID to the access network.
