Abstract

A mechanism for controlling the operation of an agricultural implement (110) of an agricultural vehicle (100). A camera (120) of the agricultural vehicle (100) captures a digital image of a target region (195) in the vicinity of the agricultural vehicle (100). A control system (130) of the agricultural vehicle (100) processes the digital image to determine an indicator of plant population in the target region (195). The control system (130) further controls, at least when the agricultural implement (110) is performing the agricultural task in the target region (195), the functioning of the agricultural implement (110) responsive to the indicator of plant population in the target region (195).
