Abstract

According to an aspect of the present inventive concept there is provided a device for characterizing objects comprising: a flow channel configured to pass a flow of liquid, wherein: the flow of liquid carries the objects, the flow channel comprises a zone associated with a category, wherein a surface is coated with molecules having an affinity and specificity to the category, whereby the surface forms an object movement modifying (OMM) surface configured to modify the movement of the object by binding and releasing the object; wherein the device is configured to modulate a force exerted on the object; wherein the device is configured to exert a first condition and a second condition on the object, the first condition being adapted to promote the binding of an object belonging to the category to the OMM surface and the second condition being adapted to promote the releasing of an object bound to the OMM surface.
