Abstract

Machine (1) and method for the recovery of glass material from a decommissioned photovoltaic panel (5) comprising at least a covering layer (6) made of glass material and a support layer (7) made of polymer material having a first face (71) adjacent to and in contact with said covering layer (6), wherein the machine (1) comprises a compression station (2), a heating station (3) and a bending station (4), and wherein the method comprises compressing the photovoltaic panel (5) to generate at least one fracture line in the cover layer (6), heating the photovoltaic panel (5) to bring the support layer (7) to a temperature higher than a softening temperature of the polymer material and subsequent bending the photovoltaic panel (5) to generate a first bending moment acting on at least one portion of the support layer (7) with the first face (71) of the support layer (7) in compression to separate the glass material of the cover layer (6) from the first face (71) of the support layer (7).
