Abstract

Provided is a control method for a variable damper for improving tire grip and vibration resistance to achieve vehicle travel with high road surface-following ability during rough road travel. The control method for a variable damper is for a vehicle in which a wheel of one of front and rear sets of wheels is driven by an in-wheel motor housed in the wheel, a wheel of the other set is driven by an on-board motor provided in a vehicle body, and at least a wheel driven by the in-wheel motor is attached to a suspension apparatus that includes a variable damper capable of adjusting a damping force, wherein the variable damper adjusts the damping force depending on a wheel speed of the wheel driven by the in-wheel motor.
