Abstract
A porous membrane includes, as a main component, a thermoplastic resin having a melting point of 180°C or more and 300°C or less, and has a tortoiseshell-like structure formed of a plurality of nodes and a plurality of fibrils. Alternatively, a porous membrane includes, as a main component, a thermoplastic resin having a melting point of 180°C or more and 300°C or less, wherein a compression ratio of the porous membrane in a thickness direction under a pressure of 2.5 N/mm<2> is 20% or less. The thermoplastic resin includes, for example, a polymethylpentene resin. When a cross section of the porous membrane is observed, for example, a plurality of the nodes are included along a thickness direction.
