Abstract
An air conditioning system includes a vapor compression loop (704) including a compressor (710), an expansion device (714), a first heat exchanger (712), a second heat exchanger (716), wherein a working fluid (R) is configured to circulate within the vapor compression loop (704). An energy storage device (702) is selectively operable to supply power to a component of the air conditioning system. A thermal management system (730) includes a heat transfer fluid loop (732) fluidly connecting the energy storage device (702) and a coolant heat exchanger (734). A heat transfer fluid is configured to circulate through the heat transfer fluid loop (732). The thermal management system (730) is thermally and fluidly coupled to the vapor compression loop (704) at the coolant heat exchanger (734). The coolant heat exchanger (734) is arranged in series with each of the compressor (710), the expansion device (714), the first heat exchanger (712), and the second heat exchanger (716) within the vapor compression loop (704).
