Abstract
Disclosed herein is a method for configuring a cooling tube for a battery cell array, a cooling tube for a battery cell array and a battery cell array. The method is for configuring a cooling tube having a plurality of channels allowing a cooling medium to pass therethrough, each channel extending along a length of the cooling tube. The method comprises determining a pressure drop ΔP across the cooling tube as a function of the number of channels N in the cooling tube and an aspect ratio D of the channels; determining an amount of deformation δ of one or more channels when the cooling tube is bent to fit an arrangement of battery cells of the battery cell array as a function of the number of channels N and the aspect ratio D of the channels; and determining a relationship of the number of channels N and the aspect ratio D of the channels to one or both of the pressure drop ΔP and the amount of deformation δ based on the determined pressure drop ΔP and the determined amount of deformation δ.
