Abstract

A visual indicator (110) for an electrical assembly (100), the electrical assembly (100) comprising a housing (120), and an electrical discharge mechanism (130) arranged within the housing (120); the electrical discharge mechanism (130) configured such that movement of the electrical discharge mechanism (130) from a first position to a second position allows electrical components (140) of the electrical assembly (100) to electrically discharge. The visual indicator (110) comprises a display component (112) arranged to display a visual indication external to the housing (120); and a mechanical coupling means (114) configured to mechanically couple the display component (112) to the electrical discharge mechanism (130), such that movement of the electrical discharge mechanism (130) causes movement of the visual indication of the display component (112). When the electrical discharge mechanism (130) is in the first position, the display component (112) displays a first visual indication, and when the electrical discharge mechanism (130) is in the second position, the display component (112) displays a second visual indication.
