Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an image display device and a control method therefor, enabling content desired by a user to be easily selected from various content, and enabling the selected content to be reproduced in an environment intended by the user. The present disclosure may provide an image display device comprising: a display; a communication interface for communicating with at least one external server; a user input interface for communicating with a remote control device; and a controller controlling so as to receive a user command inputted through the remote control device, display, on the display, a content list including at least one content meeting a user intent identified from the user command through artificial intelligence, and retrieve and display the past viewing history of content selected from the content list, wherein the past viewing history includes viewed time point information of the selected content and information on an acquaintance with whom the selected content was watched together.
