Abstract

A gas generator (1A) includes a housing main body (10) made of metal, a holder assembly (20), and an igniter (40). The holder assembly (20) includes a first holder (20A) made of metal and a second holder (20B) made of resin, the first holder holding a base (41) of the igniter (40), an ignition portion (41) of the igniter (40) being accommodated in the second holder. The first holder (20A) is fixed to the housing main body (10) by being sandwiched between a first swaging portion (11) and a second swaging portion (12) provided in the housing main body (10). The first swaging portion (11) is covered and in pressure contact with a second barrel portion (23) of the second holder (20B). An inner circumferential surface of the second barrel portion (23) is provided with a plurality of protruding portions (24) located as a row of dots along a circumferential direction. The plurality of protruding portions (24) abut on an outer circumferential surface of the ignition portion (42) to provide a gap portion (G) between the outer circumferential surface of the ignition portion (42) and the inner circumferential surface of the second barrel portion (23).
