Abstract
The disclosure provides a method for determining a faulted section in a collector grid feeder comprising a plurality of sections, the method comprising obtaining a voltage at a collector bus at a local end of the feeder (8), obtaining a first current signal through the feeder and a second current signal through the feeder, determining a first fault direction value, based on the first current signal and a derivative of the first current signal, and determining a first fault direction based on the first fault direction value, and determining a second fault direction value based on the second current signal and a derivative of the second current signal and determining a second fault direction based on the second fault direction value, and determining a faulted section based on a comparison between the first fault direction and the second fault direction.
