Abstract

A developing apparatus (1Y, 1M, 1C, 1K) includes a developing container (70), a first rotatable developing member (34), a first magnet (37) provided non-rotatably inside the first rotatable developing member (34), a second rotatable developing member (35), a second magnet (38) provided non-rotatably inside the second rotatable developing member (35), and a duct (60) including a suction port (60a) that is an inlet through which the developer scattered in the developing container (70) is sucked. The position on the outer peripheral surface of the second rotatable developing member (35) where the absolute value of the normal component of the magnetic flux density of a sixth magnetic pole (301) of the second magnet (38) becomes maximum is positioned downstream of an edge of a first duct wall (62) of the duct (60) on the suction port (60a) side with respect to the rotational direction of the second rotatable developing member (35).
