Abstract

The present disclosure proposes a neural-network post-filter NNPF that, in addition to the decoded pictures, uses as input an indication of a task (i.e. control data) which enables generating a different output for the same input decoded pictures, the output picture being specified/guided for the task or control data. For instance, the NNPF may be named a generative NNPF, as the neural-network post-filter may generate a picture specified by a particular hypothesis or control input. For instance, encoding and decoding method and/or apparatus that comprises signaling one or more syntax structures for neural-network post-filter characteristics adapted to the present principles are disclosed.
