Abstract

A method and an apparatus for loop filter control information derivation is provided that can be used in video encoding and decoding systems. A reconstructed version of a block of a video is obtained and loop filter control information for the block is derived from loop filter control information used in a reference frame of the video. One or more loop filters are applied to the reconstructed version of the block using the derived loop filter control information. The loop filter control information can be derived using motion data of the block or from collocated block in the reference frame.
