Abstract
Systems, methods, and instrumentalities for regression-based geometric partition mode (RGPM) fallback procedures. An example device may determine that RGPM is enabled. The device may determine whether to use RGPM-derived blending weights for a prediction. The RGPM-derived blending weights may vary based on the position of samples in the prediction. Based on a determination to not use the RGPM-derived blending weights, the device may determine a fallback procedure to determine unequal blending weights. The device may determine the unequal blending weights based on the fallback procedure. The device may decode a current block based on the unequal blending weights.
