Abstract

A method and device propose, for a signal handled using feature-based INR methods, to partition the signal and specify a highest level of latent grid to be used for each partition. As a result, higher levels may not be encoded nor decoded, saving bitrate and decoding operations. This allows to decrease the bit rate and the decoding complexity of low frequency part of a signal using feature-based INR methods. Such approach has a far lower computational complexity than end-to-end neural compression approaches.
