Abstract

A device including an inlet port (2302) configured for receiving a blood sample and an outlet port. The devices also includes a chamber connected to the inlet port. The chamber is configured to collect a first portion of the blood sample. The chamber has a blood impermeable membrane configured to facilitate the chamber collecting the first portion of the blood sample. The device further includes a housing that is separate from the blood impermeable membrane and a sampling channel connected with the inlet port. The sampling channel is configured to convey a subsequent portion of the blood sample to the outlet port.
