Abstract

The present invention relates to an atherectomy device, comprising a housing, a drive mechanism at least partially housed within the housing and configured to couple to an elongate member and rotate the elongate member upon actuation, a knob assembly in communication with the drive mechanism and comprising a slide adaptor coupled to the drive mechanism , the knob assembly being operably accessible from exterior the housing, wherein the knob assembly is configured to longitudinally translate the slide adaptor and the drive mechanism, releasably fix the drive mechanism at an axial position of an axis extending through the drive mechanism, and to selectively adjust the drive mechanism between an on mode and an off mode, and wherein the drive mechanism includes a recess and the slide adaptor includes an extension configured to extend into the recess.
