Abstract
A high-flow respiratory system operable to promote gas exchange in a patient's airway via a non sealing interface comprising: a humidifier connected to or for receiving a gas from at least one gas source, and a controller for operating the respiratory system, the respiratory system configured to provide a high-flow, heated and humidified gas flow with a unidirectional varying flow rate comprising two or more frequency components.
